Welcome to my personal site. I first wanted to thank you for stopping by and taking the time to learn a little bit more about me and who I am.
The fact that you’re here in the first place tells me that there is at least a part of you that is out there searching for a better way. A way to stop living your life on someone else’s terms and start living them on your own.
Hopefully my story may inspire you to take action and start doing just that. My name is Jamison Herdrich, and I live on the side of a mountain in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. If you’re a skier or a snowboarder you probably know that Steamboat Springs is home to the Steamboat Ski Resort. My girlfriend and business partner Meghan, our Chocolate Lab Charley, and I actually live within walking distance of the ski lifts on that resort, which was always a dream of mine growing up.
But we definitely weren’t always living in such luxurious digs, far from it actually. When we started our online business Meghan and I lived in a tiny 725 square foot one room apartment in Chicago, Illinois. Our spectacular view consisted of a brick wall 10 feet from our window.
Times were tough then, the corporate world and I didn’t get along, the rules and bureaucracy and conformity of corporate life felt like a straight jacket. So I went back to school in the hopes that a better education might help me get paid what I believed I was worth and have more control over my time… boy was I wrong.
While I endured back-breaking construction work to pay the bills (just barely), I set out with my freshly minted diploma in hand to find a new and better “career.” What I found left me in utter disappointment… I was looking at a long, dreary road of doing more of the same, trading my time for dollars. Yet somewhere in the back of my mind I think I had always known the truth. All that my new education would get me was a slightly more interesting career with a slightly better pay grade… but I would have even less control over my time… not to mention I was ridiculously deep in debt from student loans.
My life would consist of a day in and day out trap that is the 9-5 drudgery (actually I’d be working a lot more than just 9-5) and trading that drudgery for the sometimes relaxing weekend and the occasional short vacation. I would be stuck in that day to day grind during the prime years of my life hopelessly anticipating the day I get to retire and finally be able to live life on my own terms…. 40 years down the road.
I was not willing to wait that long, I was determined to avoid the deferred life plan of spending the prime years of my life stuck within the confining, stuffy walls of corporate America and waiting till I was of retirement age to have complete control over how I lived. But I had one major problem… how in the heck was I going to escape that trap?
Then I read a book called “The 4-Hour Workweek” by Timothy Ferriss and it completely knocked my head back. It made me realize that just about anyone can leverage the internet to start designing their perfect lifestyle. Not long after that I found my first online income stream and dove in head first.
I wish I could tell you that it was a cake walk from the get-go… but it wasn’t. We kind of bought into one of those self proclaimed gurus who are always trying to tell us that they have all the answers to making money online but in all reality… they don’t have a clue.
So we continued to struggle and wallow in that misinformation, and didn’t make a dime for a good amount of time. Meanwhile the daily back-breaking construction work was leaving me drained at the end of every day. But we didn’t lose hope, and then luckily by chance stumbled upon a top income producer who was willing to share a few key secrets and techniques.
We took those strategies, ran with them, and haven’t looked back since. I was able to cut short my process of trial and error by learning from my mentor’s mistakes and past experiences. I stopped wasting time on techniques that don’t work and started implementing only the ones that produce income. The result? Money started flowing in seemingly on autopilot… our dreams were becoming a reality.
Meghan and I were both able to quit our jobs or “fire our bosses” as they like to say and we made plans to move out of our shoebox size apartment. The beauty of an online business is that we weren’t tied down to a geographic location so we decided to follow our dream of moving to a ski resort.
After a brief stint in Denver to scout out our perfect mountain home we moved to a gorgeous home in the picturesque Yampa River Valley steps from the lifts of the Steamboat Ski Resort. This all happened in less than a year of beginning our business.
Our Hobbies and Interests
As you can probably tell by where we decided to move and make our home, Meghan and I both love being active in the outdoors. You name the outdoor activity and I probably either do it on a regular basis or have at least tried it, I’ve always loved all type of sports. Meghan is very similar, it seems like she’s always out doing something. We also both LOVE to travel, which is one of the reasons we started an online business. We’ve spent over 70 days on vacation during the past calendar year and have loved every minute of it.
Beyond our active lifestyles, we both enjoy more relaxing activities as well. We both love a thought provoking book or an amazing film, I’m always looking to learn more about this world and expand my horizons. Yet, I’d have to say that our best times are spent with our family and friends. We’re very close with our loved ones and will be starting our own family soon… we want to add a little one to keep our Chocolate lab puppy Charley company.
The Power of Leverage
I wanted to briefly talk about the concept of leverage, because leverage is what seperates the poor and middle class from the truly wealthy.
You may be asking yourself… what really is leverage?
Webster’s defines it as influence, force, power, control. In other words it is the ability to do more with less.
In the context of your life what does leverage mean?
It means less time, less energy, less effort, less worries, and less capital investments in return for more money, more wealth, more free time, more results, and more value.
And you know what? We have a tool at our very fingertips to achieve just that.
The beauty of the Internet is that it gives us an amazing tool to get that coveted leverage. We can put systems and automation in place to make more and more income as well as use that income to enjoy the finer things in life. Every single day multiple people achieve this leverage with the power of the Internet, I’m just grateful that I had sense enough to become one of them.
I no longer have to report to anyone, I no longer have to worry about how many vacation days I’ve taken this year, and I no longer have the money worries that I used to have each and every day. I have achieved my goal of living life on my own terms.
I have still loftier goals that I want to meet… and the best way to do this is to show others how to do exactly what I’ve done. That’s the way the payplans work in these companies… it rewards those who train and mentor others to duplicate what they’ve done.
But there’s more to it than that, I sincerly hope that I can help others reach the success levels that I have reached… because I can’t imagine the alternative. I’ve spent countless hours developing my leadership and coaching skills, I truly believe that those are the most valuable skills I possess. Nothing gives me more fulfillment than mentoring others to success, it’s the most rewarding experience I have achieved in my life.
Plus, I firmly believe that those that are motivated by self interest alone, will never achieve their goals. I feel like I’ve stumbled upon a golden secret and it’s my duty to share that secret with others. I would like nothing more than to help as many people as possible do what I’ve done. The deferred life plan is no way to live, and I aim to help as many people as possible escape the endless years of 9 to 5 drudgery.
